Letter 001: A New Chapter Begins

Since opening alongside Perry Lane in 2018, the boutique has been a little corner of the hotel dedicated to fashion, discovery, and a celebration of beautiful treasures. Taking its name and inspiration from the soul and spirit of Perry Lane itself, Muse tells a story beyond the styles that hang on its racks.

At the center of the story: Adelaide Harcourt.

Perry Lane's fictional muse, Adelaide, is a woman from Savannah with a love of travel and a habit of bringing beautiful things home with her. Her world is a mix of what she knows and what she's discovered along the way. Muse is where her favorite finds are on display for others to discover and call their own.

Beyond simply finding something beautiful, Muse invites us all to tap into our inner Adelaide and feel inspired, empowered, and confident in the pieces we discover.

Over the years, different women have shaped the boutique and left their mark on its identity. As the boutique has evolved, Muse has become a familiar stop for those who call Savannah home and those who find us while passing through.

Now, we're beginning another chapter.

My name is Brittany, and my journey with Muse began last November. Since then, I've had the privilege of getting to know the boutique and the people who visit us. I’ve recently stepped into the role of Manager and Buyer, and am taking on the responsibility of guiding Muse into what comes next.

As I do, I want to build on what the women who came before me created while bringing a renewed sense of intention to where Muse goes from here.

For me, that means honoring what has made Muse special while continuing to give it room to grow.

As this next chapter unfolds, you'll continue to find designers you already know and adore alongside new discoveries from Savannah and around the world. You'll see more attention paid to quality, craftsmanship, and beautiful designs. But more than anything, I want Muse to reflect the many different lives that pass through our doors.

What that looks like will be different for everyone. It might be something for an afternoon spent wandering Savannah, a wedding weekend, or a day by the pool. Something for an occasion you've been looking forward to for months, or an ordinary Tuesday simply because it makes you feel good. A gift for someone you love. A piece of Savannah to bring home with you. Or something from a place you've never been, discovered right here.

Muse has always existed somewhere between Savannah and the wider world. I want to lean into that and create a collection that feels at home here without being confined by where we are.

With each visit, you'll begin to notice some of these changes.

As summer comes to a close, we're making thoughtful updates to the boutique itself. This fall will offer the first glimpse of where we're headed, as familiar favorites meet new additions and the space begins to take on a new life.

By spring, you’ll see the pieces that were just selected on our recent trip to New York. It will be the first season where many of these ideas come to life through the curated collection we introduce at Muse.

But I don't want to wait until spring to share where we're going.

Through Letters From Muse, we'll be documenting this next chapter as it unfolds. The changes we're making to the boutique. The designers we discover and the stories behind them. The decisions that shape what eventually makes its way onto our racks. And most importantly, the fun we'll have along the way.
